We understand that our recent date changes have impacted some players' schedules. To accommodate this, Mountain Select will offer an alternative tryout weekend. Information is below.

However, please review the critical guidelines below regarding attendance and registration:

Strong Encouragement to Attend the Main Tryout Weekend

We strongly encourage all players to attend the main tryout weekend, as our primary team selections will be made from those skates.

• New to Mountain Select? Attendance at the main weekend is especially critical for players who are new to our program or have not made a Regular Season Mountain Select Team before, so our coaching staff can properly evaluate you against the full pool of talent.

What to Do If You Can't Make the Main Weekend

If you absolutely cannot attend the main tryout weekend, you must follow this process:

1. You must still register: All players must register for tryouts to be considered for a team for the upcoming season, regardless of their availability for the main weekend.
2. Fill out the form: You must complete the form linked below to explain your absence. Mountain Select Staff will notify you if you are able to attend the additional tryout.

Please note: Due to limited ice time and capacity, not all players will be granted an alternative tryout opportunity. If you cannot attend the main weekend and your request for the makeup weekend is denied, you will receive a full refund for your tryout registration fee.

Mountain Select's AA teams will be the premier teams in each age group. These teams will compete in both the tournament and friendlies against Rocky Mountain Hockey Federation (RMHF) Teams. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to participate in the State Tournament if they qualify. These teams will be formed primarily of Major Birth Years in their age group (Second Year Players)

Mountain Select's Prospect Teams will serve as the second team for each age group. These teams will primarily participate in tournaments, along with some exhibition games against local Colorado teams. The rosters will mainly consist of minor birth year players (First Year Players), with a few major birth year players (Second Year Players) included as well.

Mountain Select will offer Developmental Teams for each group if there is enough interest during the tryout process. These teams will play a limited schedule, which will include a few tournaments and exhibition games against local Colorado teams. The teams will consist of both Minor and Major birth year players.

Practices are typically held on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays (i.e. Labor Day). A three-practice weekend is typically 2 practices on Saturday and 1 on Sunday, at the same or nearby location, with off-ice and team-building activities built into the downtime.

For the upcoming 2026-27 season, we are looking at the following costs for each age group. These costs will include Team Swag, Practice Jersey, Practice/Game Ice Time, and Tournament Fees. Families will be responsible for the travel and lodging to and from practices, tournaments and games.
